A British Member of Parliament made a speech in the British House of Common claimed that;
“No civilized government ever existed on the face of this earth which was more corrupt or greedier than the government of the East India Company from 1765 to 1784”
Robert Clive admitted that
“Such a scene of anarchy, confusion, bribery and corruption was never seen or heard of in any country but Bengal”
