Main causes
a. Militarism
i.
The British army was
largest army of the world and Germany had second largest naval army of the
world. The Germany introduced U-Boat
b. Alliances
i.
Two blocks of
countries who went against each other for the sack of raw material and search
for new market due to industrialization. These two groups of countries are
1. Allied Powers (Triple Entente) which include Russia, Britain, and
France
2. Central Powers (Triple Alliance) which include Austria-Hungary,
Ottomon Empire and Germany.
c. Nationalism

Germany, Britain,
France, Ottoman Empire, Austria-Hungary, Russia were one of the largest
industrial nations who promote its own national ideology to all over the world.
d. Imperialism
i.
Different nations
went against each other for the sack of colonialism and nationalism in order to
lead the world.
e. Assassination of Archduke Frenz Ferdinend
i.
A Serbian terrorist
attacked and killed Archduke of Austria-Hungary the Frenz Ferdinend which
ignite the cause of World War 1. In reply of this A-H attacked Serbia.

Effects of World War 1
- Formation of League of Nation
- Treaty of Vesalles singed by “Big Four”
- Germany, A-H and O-E was defeated
- O-E and A-H as an empire was ceased to exist
- 14 points of Widrow Willson
- Economic depression of European nations which lead to emergence of dictators like Hitler that results in WW2
- More then 20 million military death, 7 million civilian deaths and wounded and missed and displaced are also enormous in number
- Russia considered itself as communist state
- After WW1 the world was going toward another war that was much destructive and devastating then previous one. i.e. WW2. But after WW2 the whole world was divided in east and west zone and start of cold war.

Common things in WW1 and WW2
- Both these wars were fought between super powers at that time
- Both wars had same causes except assassination of Archduke
- At first US was isolated in both the wars but after she became part of both the wars
- An international organization was formed at the end of both the wars. i.e. the league of the Nations after WW1 and UNO after WW2 but both these organization were failed to achieve their objective and unable to stop the disputes of the world.
- Both the wars were won by same nations i.e. USA, UK, Russia, France (allied powers)
- Huge destruction of humanity and infrastructure
- In both the wars a secret document was leaked that resulted in German defeat. i.e. in WW1 the Zimmer Note, and in WW2 -------------
- Air attacks, machine guns, naval wars were common in both the wars
- Both the wars were planned by Germany. i.e. Schleffen Plan in WW1 and Mein Kamph of Hitler’s plan

Differences between both the wars
- In WW1 empires like Ottomon Empire, The Great Britain and A-H empires were fought along with other nations. But in WW2 countries are involved
- World War 2 was due to dictators and their philosophies but WW1 was not involved such dictatorships
- WW2 was due to economic depression of whole Europe but WW1 was fought for the search of raw material and new markets
- WW2 was the war of ideologies like fascism, communism, and capitalism but WW1 was due to revenge and long lasting enmity among the nations
- The destruction in WW2 was more then WW1
- WW2 was ended after the complete destruction and surrender of Germany, Japan and Italy but WW1 was ended after a treaty i.e. treaty of Versailes
- The UNO formed after WW2 was more powerful organization then League of the Nations formed after WW1
- In WW1 air technology and new forms of naval techniques were introduced but in WW2 atomic bomb like weapons were used and introduced.
